UCLA researchers have shown that BTO can significantly reduce a spectrum of behavioral problems in children, such as behaviors related to inattention, withdrawn/depression, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, attention deficit/hyperactivity, oppositional defiance, and sluggish cognitive tempo (Ho, Tsao, Bloch, & Zeltzer, 2011). New findings show that the program is also highly effective for special education classrooms.

Support for Students Exposed to Trauma
Support for Students Exposed to Trauma (SSET) is a school-based group intervention for students who have been exposed to traumatic events and are suffering from symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). anxiety or nervousness
withdrawal or isolation
depressed mood
acting out in school
impulsive or risky behavior
SSET also helps students deal with real-life problems and stressors and increases levels of peer and parent support. It has been evaluated for use with middle school students ages 10-14 but will likely work well with students in late elementary through early high school.
